Solo Show Tonight . . .

This evening I have a show of my encaustic paintings at our library entitled From Dreams and Memories.

This is  one of the encaustic paintings from the show. It measures 36 inches by 36 inches by 2 inches.

The yellow bird is painted with oils directly onto the encaustic wax. The birdbath was carved into the wax and the leaves were made with a batik tool that creates raised images on top of the green encaustic beeswax.

It should be a fun evening with friends, wine and goodies.

  2. This is really gorgeous! I have always wondered about encaustic painting other than the hot iron crayon sort that we did as kids...WOW the possibilities! Rich and pleasing!
