Vintage Rosary Necklaces

I have been working on some wonderful one of a kind assemblage necklaces.
These necklaces are made up by re-purposing vintage jewelry.
I also incorporated crosses.
A pearl bead rosary and a rhinestone bracelet work well together.
This necklace is quite long, romantic and lovely.
This necklace has a  beautiful silver beaded rosary with lots of Saint Medals as well as a vintage skeleton key.
A beautiful one of a kind statement piece.
Both of these necklaces incorporate some unique pieces of vintage jewelry. I find my self thinking about the people from the past who owned this jewelry and what thier lives might have been like. I enjoy giving new life to these lovely and interesting bits of history.

Vampires Welcome Here

I don't live too far from Edward and Bella's town, so I thought I would visit.
There were indications that vampires and werewolves were among us.
I thought I would highlight some of my vintage items and art that any vampire or werewolf would love.
These vintage  rhinestone earrings are such beautiful red.
A rustic vintage belt buckle for your favorite werewolf.

Bella and Edwards love -  A red apple - representing the "forbidden fruit."
A beautiful vintage black beaded choker - very Victorian and perfect for a lovely vampire.

Trees

I LOVE TREES.
I have incorporated trees in many of my paintings. I thought I would show you a few encaustic paintings that highlight these beautiful gifts from nature.

Map Encaustic Paintings

I've added a new encaustic painting to my shop. This painting is painted on a vintage map. The translucency of the white encaustic paint creates a wonderful cloud like look.
When the encaustic paint cooled I rubbed a brown oil paint on the surface. With this technique, I can show the fantastic textures encaustic paint can create.
Here is another vintage map encaustic painting. Unlike the first painting,  I did not rub the oil paint on to the surface. This is also a nice look, a little softer and rather ethereal.

Meditating on Nature . . .

I grouped these four photo encaustic paintings and I like how they work together. The cool greens and blues, and the dreamy quality encaustic paint gives the images, makes for a very relaxing combination. Rather meditative.

October Beauty

Images from around my island. October is such a lovely month and we have been havering some nice weather lately. I sure hope it stays that way for a while - makes the gray winter not so long. This last image is from our local vineyard. There is also a pumpkin patch there and you can go and pick out your pumpkin with the kids. It's a lovely outing on a sunny day.
