I found a collection of vintage silver plated items that I have put together to create a fantastic tea service set. This vintage tea set looks like a tea set the Crawley family would use from Downton Abby.
With this vintage tea set you can create your own proper Edwardian tea. I believe even Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess of Grantham, would approve. (Maybe)
In my opinion, you can't have tea without scones. I found this wonderful blackberry jam cream tea scones recipe here.
The King Arthur Flour cookbook has a good recipe for Cream Tea
Scones as well. You can find their recipe for cream tea scones here .
According to the King Arther Flour company, scones became popular in England in the 19th century
when the length of time between lunch and dinner grew to 8 or 9 hours
long.  To fill the gap, they started having an afternoon tea, which
was usually accompanied by finger sandwiches, baked goods, and of
course, scones.
I love setting a table for tea and having pretty cups and serving items. With this vintage tea set you too can set a romantic table for tea.
This vintage silver plate tea set is available for purchase in my shop here
