I've been working with vintage photos in my encaustic artwork lately and I thought I'd share this photo. This is "vintage" photo of me - age 8. Check out the fantastic retro cars in the background. I was one of those girls who LOVED horses. All I thought about was horses. All my dreams included horses. I grew up in the suburbs of the East Bay Area in San Francisco. My parents found a riding stable near our home and I took lessons for a few years. I never did get that horse when I was a child, but in my 20s, I lived on 40 acres near Tucson, AZ. I had a couple of horses and fulfilled that childhood dream.
