Marie Antoinette Wedding

Wedding season is upon us. I love the idea that there are no rules today for wedding themes. There are so many creative and beautiful ideas to make you wedding special and perfect.

I found this adorable vintage 1940’s Marie Antoinette style porcelain figurine on one of my treasure hunts. This little bride and groom would look fantastic on a Marie Antoinette style wedding cake. This sweet couple is available to purchase in my shop here. You could use it to create your own French inspired wedding.

Marie Antoinette is infamous for her decadence and love of all things luxurious. The colors and style of this period are amazing and make a fantastic theme influence for a wedding.
Sophia Coppola’s movie Marie Antoinette is beautiful.  If you haven’t seen it, you should because the costuming is amazing. Marie Antoinette is a 2006 historical drama film directed by Sofia Coppola. It is based on the life of the French Queen Marie Antoinette in the years leading up to the French Revolution.
It won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design.

I found this wonderful vintage beaded handbag the other day. This floral embellished bag is made by Soure' of New York. The top of the bag has a root beer colored Lucite curved handle, with Lucite kiss lock closure. The interior is free of any odors and is lined with a wipe down covering to protect the interior of the bag. The interior has the Soure' tag attached. The bottom of the bag has four metal feet. This fun retro bag is in excellent vintage condition inside and out. This vintage handbag is available for purchase in my shop here.

Vintage Neon Signs

I was driving around an older area of a city the other day and I happen to see some fun vintage neon signs.

Here are some fun facts about the history of neon signs.
The word Neon comes from the Greek "neos," meaning "The New Gas." Old Neon signs are most often neon or argon gas in a vacuum tube; the smaller the diameter of the tube, the more intense the light produced and the higher the voltage required to illuminate it.

In the early years, neon signs stopped traffic as people stared in fascination. The so-called "Liquid Fire" captivated the public and it wasn't long before neon was everywhere. Theater marquee, nightclub and restaurant signs became an integral part of the streamlined American landscape.

Yard Sale Finds

Thought I'd share some wonderful vintage treasures I have collected recently.
I found a few vintage dolls with crochet outfits. This handsome groom has a white tux with tails.
His lovely bride has a flowing dress with tiny pearl beading.
A Southern Belle with a delicate crochet dress. Such a sweet face - so retro.
A biscuit tin with a fantastic portrait of a lady with pearls. This tin could be hung on the wall as art.

A sweet doe and fawn - super cute for autumn and holiday decor.
An old salt box. I think this would look great holding paintbrushes and pens.
A big ceramic nut container.

Love this retro bread box. Would be great as a storage container for art or office supplies.
You can find all of these items in my red truck designs shop just click on the photos and the link will take you directly to the item.
