Encased in Wax

I have a show this month Esvelt Gallery at the Columbia Basin College in western Washington.

This exhibition features small scale encaustic paintings by two Western Washington artists, Patricia Baldwin Seggebruch and myself. Encaustic is an ancient form of painting in which layers of pigment are encased in beeswax and fused to a support with heat. The 37 abstract works in this show all contain references to the visible world of plants and people that have been fragmented and simplified and then suspended in overlapping translucent layers of wax.
