Birdcage Canvas

I've been playing around painting on some large pieces of canvas I found in my supply closet.

I cut out a large rectangle. I then painted using  acrylics. Once the paint was dry I drew with pastels.

These are the colors I love, turquoise blues and  greens. After I finished with the pastels I added a bit more paint. When I felt the painting was finished, I sprayed a fixative over the whole piece to protect the pastel chalk and paint.

 I kept the edges of the canvas frayed and I like the look of the canvas.
